I’ve hit a century of posts!
100 not out. A bit of a cricketing term there, I am sorry for the non-sport fans.

Above is an actual picture of me from a hundred years ago. I called myself W.G. Grace back then and wear my beard more fashionably trimmed these days.
Before my delusions take control, what else has 100?
The Centipede’s supposed to have a hundred legs. They can have as few as 20 or as many as 300 legs, apparently. Imagine shoe shopping with one of those on the weekend:
“Can I try another left shoe for foot 84. Feels tight.”
At 100 years of age in GB’land you receive a letter from the Queen. Yes, a personalised message inside a card from The QUEEN! When casually discussing your 100th birthday at the salad bar (hardly likely to celebrate 100 in a burger bar are you!) you can say,
“Aunt Aida forgot my birthday, again, but The Queen sent me a card.”
You also get a card on your 60th wedding anniversary. Before you ask. They don’t know and send you a card. You contact the proper people at the palace and they make the arrangements. You could probably Tweet The Queen as a heads up. Maybe, I don’t know for sure 😉
I’m just full of information today. Well, full of something. Ahem, anyway.
The stats gurus at WordPress now provide you with little Awards so you know when you’ve beaten previous milestones.
In my 100 posts, I’ve somehow managed to bribe you all into hitting my posts over 10,000 times; including my responses, there have been over 2,000 comments; you’ve clicked that little like button over a 1,000 times and 389 of you are insane enough to follow my blog.
My 100th post comes 532 days after the first one, so approximately a post every 5 days. Happy with that. Not too many, not too few.
When my first post went live, I never dreamt of reaching 100 hits, let alone this number of posts.
WooHoo!
Thank you for your comments and consistent support. I’ve had a blast over the last 18 months, met some great people and learnt many, many things that will help improve my writing. I’ve also downloaded several books that I only know about through blogland.
Here’s to the next 100!

So, does The Queen click like on this post or does she leave a comment??

Congrats! I’m about halfway to 100 posts 🙂
Thanks. I’m sure the next 50 will fly for you.
Congrats on the 100th! 🙂 Beth
Thanks, Beth 🙂
Congratulations. Happy 100. Keep it up.
Thanks, Julian. 🙂
If the Palace staff have overlooked responding, I’m hoping my sentiments will be sufficient, as Her Majesty is fond of us Australians, I believe, and very taken with Hugh & Elle, despite being a tad disappointed in our 2Day FM radio jocks… but then we all are, even before that tawdry episode. Extending royal congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of your 100 and wishing you many more.
Thanks, EllaDee. Yes, I think The Queen loves all in the Commonwealth 🙂 She still hasn’t commented. Must still be editing it to get the wording just right.
Ere, Billy Grace. You been ‘ittin then chips again ave you. Your trousers up to your armpits to avoid the old pot there. You’ll not mek many runs like that.
Happy Hunnerd tho’.
Hahaha, thanks, David.
Congratulations on the 100th post! And I’d like to say thank you for posting at a pace I can keep up with for reading. 😉 If the Queen’s anything like her mother, she’ll be sending one to herself in a few years. Or will William be King before then? 😉
Thank you. Apart from the odd challenge like the A to Z when my blog will explode posts for the month of April, I can’t write them faster than I already do! Not and get any other writing done at least.
I think William might be King by the time she reaches her century. 😉
I think I have like, 6 posts. I have a way to go… haha! Congrats to you, though! Yay, blogging writers!
You’ll be there faster than you know. The last twenty seem to have flown by. Thanks for visiting. 🙂
The Queen Mum “liked” and commented on all of my blog posts until she discovered you. I’ll forgive you. Happy 100! Here’s to 100 more, or more!
Thanks, Robin. I think The Queen probably has a gravatar of one of her corgies. I need to watch out for them. 🙂
Have you read The Uncommon Reader? A delightful book by Alan Bennet about the Queen discovering a book mobile while out walking her corgies. She learns to love books.
I haven’t. I might have to check it out now. 🙂
It is a slim volume and a treasure. He also wrote The Madness of King George, but The Uncommon Reader is my favorite of Mr. Bennett’s work.
Count me among the 389, Pete!!
I know 🙂
Thanks, Joyce.
Congratulations on reaching the 100! I’m still in the 80s I think on mine. I tend to be a once a week gal on my main blog! 🙂
You have soooo many other commitments. Cooking blogs to rival Mary Berry and the LimeBird stint. I’m surprised you have time to sleep.
Wonderful! I love your posts, I love your blog, Cheers to you and heres to a century more.
Awww thanks, Kate. 🙂
Congrats! You’ve got a great blog so it is no wonder that you have hit 100 posts. Here is to the next hundred and many more after that.
Thank you, kind Sir 🙂
Fabulous, great work, always interesting blog, onward to the next century! And look at all those awards, what a champion. 🙂
Thanks. I try to be interesting. Try 🙂
That’s a very good picture of you. I like the beard. You ought to grow it back.
If I make it to 100, I’m going to a burger joint with burgers the size of my head and chocolate cake even bigger than that. No point in being healthy at that point… 😀
Happy 100th. I think milestones like that are always fun to recognize.
Thanks. Felt like one to celebrate 🙂
I am proud to add to your like and comment count. Well done, sir!
Thank you 🙂
